Gretsch Broadkaster

Serving as Gretsch's flagship drum kit from the 1920s through to the 1950s, the Broadkaster line was said to produce what was known as 'that great Gretsch sound'. The current Broadkaster series drums are a superb development of the timeless classic. The same 3-ply shells are used in the same maple-poplar-maple configuration, ensuring the reproduction of an industry-leading sound. The Gretsch Broadkaster drums feature an exclusive reverse roundover bearing edge and the toms utilise Gretsch '302' double-flanged hoops, like those found on the Brooklyn and Renown series drums. The hoops provide a lighter weight than traditional die-cast hoops, with reduced rigidity for a more open sound. Despite the differences, the '302' hoops maintain the glorious, focused sound that die-cast hoops are known for. The Broadkaster drums are also available in a huge range of stunning finish options, allowing you to find the perfect drums to match your taste.

Gretsch Maple/Poplar/Maple Formula

The Gretsch Broadkaster shells feature a classic North American maple/poplar/maple construction, with an interior ply scarf joint for enhanced structural integrity and rigidity. When combined, the maple and poplar plies produce a rich resonance with a distinct tonal clarity and balance. The shells feature Gretsch vintage hardware which consists of high-quality components styled from drums in the 1950s-era. The vintage Broadkaster kit also includes Remo Fiberskyn bass drum logo heads, offering a full-range tone with incredible definition with enhanced mid to low-range resonance. The heads employ a natural, vintage design and feel, complementing the satin copper finish of the shells and the overall aesthetic that the Broadkaster drums offer.
