The Fulltone Fulldrive FD2 Overdrive Pedal features in Guitar Player Magazine as one of the "Top 50 Effects Ever!" and has been consistently praised for its stunning tones and build quality. It includes a 'clean' channel with a low-gain response depending on how you set the mini-toggle switch and volume. This channel is capable of providing dynamic and open sounding overdrives which would be ideal for 'edge-of-breakup' tones. When the boost is engaged, it brings its own overdrive control and boost level. This offers multiple uses and can deliver a clean boost or a more compressed overall level with violin-like sustain for smooth soloing.
Mini Toggles For More Tonal Sculpting
The Fulldrive FD2 has two mini-toggle switches that affect the overall character of the overdrive and the mid-range response. It allows you to go from "Vintage" FD2 sound with mid-heavy tones that cut through the mix, to "FM (flat-mids)" for a more natural, transparent sound that works beautifully with a single coil neck pickup.
The other mini-toggle lets you choose between Mosfet and Normal clipping modes. Normal mode is more asymmetrical, sweeter and more open, with no "blanket" over the sound.
