The 2018 Jackson SL4X Soloist features a basswood body, which is lightweight and eliminates the heavy strain on the player's shoulder, for a longer, comfortable performance. The familiar Soloist shape offers easy access to the full fingerboard, for a comfortable performance. This stylish body also features an angled headstock, which not only complements the overall appearance, but provides better string tension and eliminates undesirable string vibration at the locking nut.
Like others in the X Series, the SL4X Soloist features Jackson's unique and innovative compound-radius fingerboard design, in which the fingerboard gradually flattens toward the heel from its more rounded profile at the nut. This design provides a smooth playability for both chords and riffs, whilst the flattened heel allows sensational accessibility and speed at the high register, perfect for both lead and rhythm players.
The Jackson SL4X Soloist features a trio of Duncan Designed Hot Rails pickups, located in the bridge, middle and neck positions. These pickups produce a versatile range of tones, from aggressive crunch to added sustain. Manufactured with powerful ceramic magnets, the Hot Rails pickups are perfect for heavier styles such as rock, metal and punk. Players can easily shape their tone using the volume and tone controls, along with the 5-way position blade.
