The Ibanez BTB1806 bass guitar is designed to offer boutique quality craftsmanship and a premium playing experience. With its clever construction methods, premium tonewoods and high quality electronics and hardware, the BTB1806 gives you "Performance beyond expectation."
The BTB1806 features a rosewood top and back, with a separate ash wing. They are finished in a natural low gloss to show off the grain of the wood below. Rosewood provides a strong and resonant tone while the ash wing gives extra brightness, attack and clear overtones. The neck is a 9-piece design constructed from wenge, bubinga, and maple, and features graphite reinforcement rods. These woods provide an exceptional balance of lows and highs, while the graphite assists in neck stability and resonance. The fingerboard is rosewood and provides a stable surface for the left hand.
The BTB1806 features an exceptionally comfortable contoured body, with a particularly deep cutaway to allow access to the upper frets. The extra long 35-inch neck ensures even string tension and added sustain. It also gives superior articulation and is perfect for the BTB1806's 6 strings. The neck is built with neck-through construction which provides a stunning appearance and also gives massive sustain with excellent stability. The inclusion of a "zero" fret allows for more accurate intonation along with a more consistent string tone and resonance, when comparing open strings with fretted notes.
The BTB1806 features Aguilar DCB active pickups which give a dynamic and responsive attack and singing sustain. They are wired up with Ibanez custom electronics giving you access to a 3-band EQ with an extra mid frequency switch. This gives you the ability to sculpt your tone to exactly how you like it, or to bypass the EQ section altogether.
This bass guitar features many high quality appointments in hardware such as Gotoh machine heads and a Mono-Rail V bridge. These ensure that you will have maximum tuning stability alongside string vibration transfer to the body of the guitar. A Neutrik locking output jack is also included which cleverly prevents your cable from being accidentally pulled out of the guitar.
The BTB1806 is cleverly designed and every feature has been carefully thought about to either improve the sound or the functionality of this guitar. This is a bass that is built to offer the maximum playing experience and tone for the player, whilst standing up to the rigours of gigging and touring.
