The Edge Modeling Microphone can accurately emulate different polar patterns, off-axis response, and proximity effects, allowing you to get a different range of tones once recorded into your DAW. You can then use the FPGA Accusonic modeling software with the microphone, which allows you to choose from an array of different mics to perform and record with in real-time. Plug your Edge microphone into the Discrete 4 preamp interface, and you can transform it into any one of several vintage tube, transformer, and FET-based microphones. Antelope’s FPGA is the perfect modeling platform for monitoring and recording performance in real-time. The Accusonic 3D modeling software allows you to switch between different classic microphone emulations and microphone preamps before or after recording.

This product comes with the premium FX pack, which gives you access to all the Antelope Audio FPGA FX. It provides you with authentic digital re-creations of iconic classic hardware processors. The premium FX pack allows you to employ the full studio power of the FPGA FX, allowing you to utilise 4 channel strips with 4 FX instances each, and up to 16 channel strips using the new AFX2DAW plug-in. The FX pack allows you control many of these classic, high-quality processors all inside your DAW. The Edge microphone is a dual capsule design that is edge mounted. This results in a much smoother response compared to center mounted capsules. This approach helps to accurately and smoothly model those classic expensive microphones. The edge mounting approach is one that was employed on very popular vintage microphones. The Edge microphone can model several vintage mics including the U47, U67, U87, M49, M149, UMB57, TLM013, and more, whilst also being able to switch between proximity effect, and off-axis response in real-time, resulting in a range of different tones.
