Windows Vista Home Basic is the edition of Windows for just the essential home computing needs, such as using e-mail, browsing the Internet, or viewing photos. While it lacks many of the features of Home Premium, it is easier and safer than Windows XP.

Current Vista compatible software/hardware supplied by Red Submarine:

Pinnacle Studio, Cakewalk, RME (Fireface 400/800 only), Motu, M-Audio (external cards only), Edirol, IK Multimedia, East West, Adobe CS3, Sony Sound Forge and Reason.

Incompatible software/hardware:

Avid, Edius, E-MU, M-Audio (internal cards only), Matrox, Cubase, Ableton and Sony Vegas and ACID software.
