Fender released the original Musicmaster intending it to be a student model. Now, it reaches far beyond that. Moving away from the single neck pickup of the first models, the Shawn Mendes design has a Tex-Mex single-coil Strat in the bridge which is joined by a Player Series Alnico 2 humbucker at the neck. A 1956 icon - for the modern player. Expect sparkling highs and Texas grit rounded off with a warm feel from the Tex-Mex. Meanwhile, the humbucker offers you all the beef you need for rhythmic chords or glistening, clean single-coil tones when coil-split via the push/pull master tone control. It's the perfect recipe to any genre.
