A superior build
A guitar that demands attention. The grand auditorium body delivers brilliant sound projection that is sure to captivate anyone. It is also exceptionally versatile, so you will never be limited. With full, rounded lows, pronounced mids, and sparkling highs, you'll have a gorgeous tonal response across the whole frequency range. Better still, the stunning Venetian cutaway offers sublime playability. Fingerpick and strum effortlessly, even when reaching those upper frets.
A beautiful Sitka spruce top offers a broad dynamic range and crisp articulation, perfect for many different playing styles. Even with aggressive strumming, you'll have brilliant definition. Rosewood back and sides will then add rich, bright qualities to your tone and has the brilliant ability to even out any harsh frequencies. The result? A gloriously balanced sound that lends itself to all fingerpicking and strumming techniques.
Designed for flawless fretting
The Taylor 414ce-R features a marvellous tropical mahogany neck and an exquisite ebony fretboard, allowing you a dreamy playing experience that will never tire. Mahogany exudes resonance, richness, and wondrous balance thanks to an emphasis on midrange frequencies. But its robust and durable properties are what make it perfect for this scrupulously crafted neck. Thanks to long-lasting stability, you can relish such a tone for years to come. And if that isn't enough, mahogany's sonic capabilities grow more focused as the wood matures, meaning you'll have endless glistening sound. A satin finish then promises flawless playability.
The West African Crelicam ebony fretboard attached on top further enhances your playing experience thanks to its naturally high oil content which gives it a lusciously smooth finish. What makes the ebony used on Taylor guitars completely unique is the process of sustainable and socially responsible sourcing that has led to it being in your possession, made possible by Taylor's Ebony Project which takes place in Cameroon. Ebony is an extremely responsive tonewood that offers a beautifully bright sound, making it a gorgeous accompaniment to spruce, rosewood, and mahogany. Project your music with purpose and brilliant volume, ebony's snappy and crisp attack ensures that every single note cuts through the mix astonishingly well, leaving nothing unheard.
Amplify your sound
One of the most compelling features of this guitar is the Expression System 2 that is mounted discreetly. Featuring three pickup sensors, this electronic system captures more acoustic dynamics than ever before. Combined with Taylor's 'professional audio' preamp, this guitar allows you to plug into an amp, PA system, or recording software whilst always experiencing glorious acoustic tonal properties. Sculpt your tone with three soft rotary controls and achieve a sound that is well and truly unique.
