Probably the most well-known Höfner player is Sir Paul McCartney (The Beatles) whose use of the now iconic Höfner 500/1 Violin Bass guitar (the "Beatle Bass") for over 50 years has earned the brand worldwide recognition. Other notable Höfner owners have included Eric Clapton who learned to play on a Höfner acoustic guitar, Keith Richards (The Rolling Stones) who owned a hollow-body Höfner cut away and Mark Knopfler whose first guitar was a V2 solid.

Hand crafted in the mountains of Bavaria by dedicated artisans, Höfner guitars are built with a combination of cutting edge technology and traditional methods by master luthiers. The Höfner craftspeople ethically source premium European woods which they handpick and air-dry for several years in their own facilities. These are then carefully sculpted to produce optimal resonance from all Höfner guitars.

Many of the models synonymous with the Höfner brand were conceived during the 50’s Rock n Roll era; the President, the Committee and the Violin Bass to name just three.
