Key Features
The Doepfer A-106-6V Vintage Edition is a multi-mode filter module, designed to fit with Eurorack synthesizer systems. Taking inspiration from classic filter circuits of the past, the A-106-6V Filter offers a unique take on signal processing by offering up to 16 filter types, eight of which can be used simultaneously. Set in two banks of eight which can be instantly switched between, the A-106-6V Filter offers all conceivable filter types from low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, all-pass and notch filtering.
In traditional Doepfer style, the A-106-6V Filter features one audio input with level control that features a smooth transition with no dead-spots. Even when cranked, the level does not go into overdrive, maintaining the smooth and natural sound of the filter. Indicated by a legend on the unit, the A-106-6V offers up to four-pole outputs, letting you use a softer 6dB/octave filter to a more aggressive 24dB/octave filter.
All standard VCF controls are available with a CV controlled resonance dial with an attenuator, allowing you to connect a wide range of devices from additional oscillators to envelope generators.

Where the A-106-6V Filter differs from others is the smooth and natural response it provides even when driven to the extreme. Where other filters may introduce serious amounts of distortion gritty character, the A-106-6 maintains the smooth tone you've come to expect from an expander-style filter. This isn't to say that there are no tonal variations within the filter. The outputs of the four internal filter stages are mixed together with different levels and polarities to obtain the 16 potential filters. Because of this, each output has their own distinctive sonic character, some with a more pure and true tone and others with introduced harmonics and overtones. Encouraging experimentation, the A-106-6V is ideal for live performers looking for a quick and easy way to transform the sound of your signal.
A vital piece of the modular puzzle is filtering. Filtering adds movement and excitement to your tracks or can simply be used to tame harsh highs and unruly lows. When used to creative effect in the context of a full production, filtering can add suspense to your sound by filtering out excessive lows to create euphoric build-ups. Alternatively, filter out extreme highs for a powerful, full-bodied low-end that rumbles the room.
Whilst also available to be used for creative effect, the Doepfer A-106-6 offers a large range of filter outputs and pole levels, meaning you could use band-pass filtering to help sit a lead sawtooth above a dense mix to jump out from your speakers. The possibilities are simply endless.
