Building on the success and the design of the Solo 6 BE studio monitor, the Solo 6 ST6 takes the design to the next level. The 6.5-inch cone helps to deliver the low and mid-frequency range with the Beryllium dome focusing on the treble. The ‘W’ Cone is a specially-designed composite sandwich cone, resulting in optimised frequency response and a neutral balance between frequency bands. The inverted dome design of the Beryllium tweeter helps to deliver superior sound reproduction in the higher bands, complete with an M-shaped protective grille. The tweeter increases the frequency range up to 10kHz so you capture every nuance of your source audio.
Utilising cutting-edge technology, Focal introduced the groundbreaking ‘W’ composite sandwich cone design. This unique cone design helps to optimise the frequency response curve of the subwoofer utilising two sheets of woven glass tissue sandwiched between the structural foam core. The light yet rigid construction helps to control signal transmission speed, helping to provide a completely transparent sound with exceptional phase response.
One of the most innovative features of the Solo 6 is ‘Focus Mode’. Designed with audio professionals in mind, Focus Mode allows you to configure the Solo 6 as a one-way monitor so you can reference your mixes between the two varied configurations. This gives you a clearer image of how your mixes will translate to other systems and help you make critical mixing decisions. The rear-panel connections for ‘Focus Mode’ allow you trigger the different configurations using an external source such as an expression pedal.
The rear panel of the Solo 6 features a myriad of different controls to optimise the sound of your monitors, no matter the space. HF and LF shelving controls are included as well as a high-pass filter (@160Hz) as well as sensitivity controls so you can adapt to any working environment. There is also an LMF EQ, as well as switches for the sensitivity and the auto stand-by mode. There are also I/O connectivity for the ‘Focus Mode’. The monitor itself is constructed from premium quality materials, providing improved rigidity and dampening which results in improved signal integrity and sound reproduction.
