Phase cancellation is an inevitable consequence whenever your record anything with more than one microphone, if you choose to ignore it your tracks become dull. You could manually search for delays, but this is a tedious and time-consuming process. MAutoAlign does the job for you, so you can move on to the more inspiring aspects of music production.

Furthermore, with spectral phase compensation, MAutioAlign can fix the phase of each frequency in all tracks. When active, MAutoAlign not only estimates the ideal delays and polarity, but also the ideal phase rotation to minimise cancellations. Phase cancellation is caused by the time difference between microphones in a multi-mic recording, producing a comb filter effect that ruins your sound. Usually, you have to deal with unrecoverable frequency cancellations, altered pitch perception, and time-smearing effects on transients. MAutoAlign has the ability to measure the microphone/sound source distance and compensate it with time delays. Simply insert an instance of MAutioAlign on each track of your microphone recording and the plugin instances will begin to automatically communicate with each other, divisible into 26 different align groups. Simply click analyse to make a measurement and MAutoAlign will display the results in various length units so you can manually adjust the delay if necessary.
When multi-miked audio is mixed it is not uncommon to have delays of around 500 samples between microphones, so even with just four microphones, there are more than 62,500,000,000 possibilities. MAutoAlign solves this problem in an extremely efficient way, simply start playback and press the analyse button and the plug-in will determine the correct delay for each track after just a few seconds. As part of the analysis, MAutoAlign calculates the optimal phase adjustment to minimise cancellations. You can then simply enable the spectral phase compensation module and it will apply the phase adjustment to the input signals.
