Dynamic solid-stare recordings
Solid state recording devices are the go-to modern method of audio recording, their digital versatility backed up by physical storage makes them incredibly useful and failsafe. Tascam bring you the SSR250N, a solid state recording and playback device with LAN network connection capabilities. Featuring two SD card slots and a USB port, the SSR250N can host a range of SD card types with storage capacities of up to 128GB, and a USB drive with up to 64GB of memory. Supporting high resolution recording and playback at 96KHz/24bit audio quality, the SSR250N also features a built in sample rate converter for its inputs and outputs.
An integrated LAN network hub allows you to upload recorded files to external sources on the connected server with its file transfer protocol (FTP) host function, as well as download audio files from the server too. The LAN capability provides the ability to set time synchronisation via SNTP hosting and event lists for recording, playback, downloading means that the SSR250N can pre-set to run autonomously in advance. Control the SSR250N with the RC SS150 remote control or install the IOS/Android control app to command the recording device from a distance.
High-end sound quality and recording
A range of recording modes and functions allow you to utilise the multiple storage inputs in ways that suit your equipment and circumstances. The dual SD card and USB inputs can be used to create backups or used in succession when recording. Backup mode stores the audio on both selected media simultaneously, this prevents loss of your recording in case of problems like corruption or recording medium issues, and an automatic closing file closing feature saves and closes recording files every few seconds to safeguard against power loss and other disruption.
To maximise the length of your recording, the Relay function allows you to record on one storage device to the next sequentially, so you don't need to worry about stopping recording and switching to an empty storage device, perfect for any extended recording requirements. To aid your recording process, the SSR250N is equipped with many more features such as a compressor and limiter, as well as automatic input level control and recording automation. For inputs the SSR250N has analog XLR and RCA connectors, with the XLR having 48v phantom power capability, as well as digital AES/EBU and a SPDIF coaxial input.
Wide range of playback controls
Extensive playback controls and modes, and assistance allow you to get the most out of your recordings or uploaded audio. Playing audio on the SSR250N is straight forward and user friendly, auto cue locates the first sound in a track when the device is in playback standby, incremental play lets you to skip through tracks effortlessly by pressing play, and you can adjust speed and key with a pitch control. Different playback modes such as program, random, and single give you the ability to play your audio in any order. An "end of message" (EOM) will let you know when your track is about to finish. Outputs for the SSR250N mirror the inputs, with both analog XLR and RCA as well as digital AES/EBU and SPDIF outputs.
A versatile machine
in addition to its recording, playback, and network connectivity capabilities. The SSR250N has a sample rate converter for integrating with different equipment, you can connect a range of compatible remote controls, and you can connect another unit and use link playback to operate them simultaneously. You can even install an optional IF-DA2 two channel Dante Network Interface Card, this integrates the Tascam SSR250N with other Dante compatible devices, employing pristine digital connection via ethernet cables. Despite the power and useful range of features of the SSR250N, it only takes up one unit of your rack space, and its rugged outer construction keeps it safe from damage and ensures its long service life. The Tascam SSR250N solid state recorder is essential for any lecture hall, house of worship, concert hall, club or any other venue with extensive recording requirements.
