Inspired by the best-selling jazz trombone from King, the 3B, the 2B is manufactured to the same high standard in the USA. Upper register playing will never be an issue again with the 2B due to the small dual bore .481''/.491'' slide. Capable of performing with an accurate and brilliant sound, the 2B's range truly has no boundaries. Projecting this versatile tone to the back of any concert hall is effortless thanks to the 7-3/8'' yellow brass bell. For additional tonal warmth, the trombone is finished with a bright clear lacquer. The 2B looks more professional than ever due to the newly designed engraving on the bell and the vintage three-piece balancer.
Even when King instruments were first produced in 1894, the instrument was hailed for its smooth and light slide action. From that point on, new skills and technology have only made king trombones better. The chrome plated nickel silver tubing makes for a lightweight slide, offering the player huge technical versatility on quicker passages of music.
As well as the trombone, the 2B includes a luxury black hard case designed for the King trombone to fit in securely. This makes transporting the instrument to concerts and rehearsals very easy. Also included is a King mouthpiece which is manufactured to the specifications of the trombone. It plays freely and easily in the higher register and produces a beautiful and rich tone.
The first King trombone was developed in 1894 and was a revelation to the music world. King had a reputation for engineering the best trombone slides, making them smoother, finer and lighter than any other trombone. Today, King use their musical heritage to continue to set high standards for modern day trombones, combining both traditional techniques and modern-day processes into every instrument.
“My ‘Jiggs Whigham’ 2B model trombone is indeed a thrill to play - I LOVE IT!!! This wonderful instrument responds to my expectations, allowing me to not only play in various styles but to also realize my own personal musical voice. For me, this is ‘THE’ trombone!”Jiggs Whigham - internationally acclaimed soloist and clinician
“For over 20 years the King 2B has been the right horn for me. The rich full sound and sonority was unlike anything I could achieve on my other horns. There’s just something special about a King. Since then I’ve tried lots of different horns but nothing can come close to my 2B. Today, for the way we play in Bonerama the very same horn is still the perfect fit. I love my King 2B!!!”Mark Mullins - Bonerama
