Key Features
20 years after the first Silent Violin release, Yamaha are proud to present the YSV104 Silent Violin, in brown. Maintaining the same functional design as previous models, the YSV104 is the first silent violin to feature Yamaha's SRT powered system. The spruce body features a maple neck and resin-impregnated fingerboard which offers an authentic feel, while the maple bridge comes with a built-in pickup for a clean and crisp sound.
Just like an acoustic violin, the mechanisms which affect the posture and feel of the violin are in the same place on the body. The silent violin offers two sound types - room, which brings a clear tone with short reverb and is ideal for practice, and hall, which is capable of producing soft tones with medium reverb. The YSV104 comes with earphones, cables, and a control box; everything you need to get started.

Yamaha’s all-new YSV104 Silent Violin offers original concepts perfect for practice! The YSV104 features new and improved mechanisms enhance both the look and feel of the violin. Beautifully made with a solid body, the silent violin maintains the layout of an acoustic violin – from the bridge, tailpiece, neck, and to the rest of the body. Powered by the SRT(Studio Response Technology) system, the silent violin is made with the capacity to faithfully reproduce the tonal characteristics found in the acoustic violin. And with an optimized L/R channel volume, frequency response, and delay, you can play while hearing realistic acoustic tone and resonance via the earphones. Bringing to you an incredible playing experience.
When professional violinists want to capture the sound of an acoustic violin, they’ll do so with a microphone. The same goes for musicians that prefer electric acoustic violins since electric-acoustics are very effective in their ability to adjust sound and balance volume during live performances. The sound that electric-acoustics produce is simply the augmented sound received from a pickup, attached to the bridge or the top of the violin. But it is found that such a recording style lacks true acoustic resonance and ambience.
But never fear, Yamaha is here! The new SRT system allows you to capture and create that authentic, acoustic sound. With a choice of three different outstanding microphones and calculated mic positioning, you can obtain more detailed sound by blending the sound with that from the piezo pickup and adjusting resonance. The SRT series brings studio-quality acoustic violin sound to the stage that will amaze. Highly recognised by many professionals, the SRT system delivers a natural response, body resonance and an authentic acoustic sound quality
